The approach

A family book has one reader who matters and about sixty who will keep it forever. Correspondence and photographs are catalogued and transcribed, gaps are filled from interviews, and the whole is set as a proper book with a contents page, dates in the running heads and an index of names. Bound in cloth with foil blocking, in a slipcase, in an edition small enough to be numbered by hand.
